Union County Bicentennial Committee hosted the first event of the year with a Blessing of the County on Friday, January 7th in Waverly. Bicentennial Committee chairman, Jerry Manning, started the event welcoming the crowd of 60 or so people including all four city mayors and several county officials. Father Freddie Byrd offer the blessing and Judge Executive Jody Jenkins read the County's proclamation. The Breakfast celebration was a wonderful way to start the new Bicentennial year.
